Combined, our inpatient and outpatient divisions’ 125 experienced staff handle more than 160,000 patient visits each year.

Michael Mancuso, PT, DPT - Clinical Director

Michael Mancuso, PT, DPT, CKTP is the Clinical Director at Metro SportsMed in Bensonhurst and Gravesend. Mike received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from East Stroudsburg University in 2009 followed by his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton. He gained valuable experience during numerous affiliations in acute rehabilitation facilities and outpatient orthopedic clinics. Upon graduating with his DPT, Mike pursued a 14 month clinical mentorship at STAR physical therapy in NYC where he refined his skills learning from manual, orthopedic, and sports certified specialists. In his first 3 years of clinical practice, he became certified in Myofascial Decompression (MFD) aka “cupping”, Kinesiotape (CKTP), and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). He is currently on the road to becoming a certified manual therapist. Mike has been featured in People Magazine in a recent piece entitled “What is Cupping Therapy? Why Michael Phelps and Gwyneth Paltrow Put Their Faith in the Ancient Technique”. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, volleyball, and staying active . He also enjoys volunteering and has volunteered for the St. Michaels School for Special Needs in Arizona and in the medical tent at the NYC marathon.

Fraida Diamond, PT, DPT

Fraida received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from SUNY Downstate in 2016. Throughout the course of her education, Fraida has gained valuable experience by completing clinical affiliations in a variety of settings including Kings County Hospital, Coney Island Hospital sub-acute unit, as well as multiple orthopedic outpatient clinics. Her areas of clinical interest include post-operative and sports rehabilitation, manual therapy and treatment of patients with neurological disorders. In her spare time, Fraida enjoys reading, art, music and watching baseball.

Frank Xian Yao Gao

Frank Xian Yao Gao has an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from LaGuardia Community College and is licensed to practice as a physical therapist assistant in New York State.

After graduation, he obtained physical therapy experience by working in rehab center, nursing home, inpatient and outpatient clinics. When Frank is not working he enjoys reading, gardening and working in a church as a volunteer.
