Dean Zaneteas, DPT, MS, Clinic Director
Dean Zaneteas is clinic manager at Park Slope and pediatric program director.
He received his Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of New England and his Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Motor Control from Indiana University.
He is a Certified Clinical Instructor with the American Physical Therapy Association. He is also a Certified National Instructor in the World Martial Arts Association, WMAA and 7th Degree Master in Tae Kwon Do.
He is currently working on Shroth Certification in Scoliosis Treatment.
Dean is specially trained to treat a variety of diagnosis including developmental conditions and birth-related injuries (e.g. torticollis), Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, general conditioning and fitness, spinal deformities (e.g. scoliosis), sports-related injuries, postural retraining and trauma.
He has a special interest in applying yoga/karate in the treatment of “mechanical” back pain.
“I entered Physical Therapy because I wanted to work with people and their movement problems,” he says.
When Dean is not working, he can be found teaching karate, practicing yoga and running and biking.
Daniel Sitner, OTR/L, Director of Outpatient Occupational Therapy
Daniel Sitner, OTR/L, is Director of Outpatient Occupational Therapy at Park Slope.
He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate University – Health Science Center at Brooklyn (2001) in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He is a licensed occupational therapist within New York State. His certifications include the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and graduation from the National Parkinson’s Foundation Allied Team Training for Parkinson’s disease.
His first job following graduation was at METRO SPORTSMED® in April of 2001.
The foundation of his clinical skills began in the acute care rehabilitation unit at New York Methodist Hospital and he focused his training in the acute rehabilitation unit, neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric unit, all medical acute units and outpatient hand therapy.
He transitioned from the inpatient service into a full time position in outpatient hand therapy for three years before being promoted to Director of Outpatient Occupational Therapy. His specializations include the Upper Extremity and Hand Therapy Program.
Daniel says he decided to enter the field of occupational therapy because of his desire to explore a health professional career. He wanted a career that had opportunities in various settings and the ability to participate in an individual’s well-being on a personal level.
He attended a lecture on the topic of Occupational Therapy, which was given by the Director of the Occupational Therapy Program at SUNY Downstate and by the end of that address, he had decided to become an occupational therapist.
When he is not working, he indulges his passion for soccer. He enjoys playing, watching professional games and even coaching his son’s soccer team.
His family originates from Argentina, and therefore he is fluent in Spanish as well as English.
Emily Wulwick, MS, OTR/L
Emily Wulwik, MS, OTR/L was always interested in science and medicine and she knew from an early age she wanted to have a career in rehabilitation.
She achieved her Master of Science degree at Touro College, New York, NY, her Bachelor of Arts from Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO, and is currently working on specialty certification in hand therapy.
She gained experience doing fieldwork in mental health, pediatrics, and both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
Currently her areas of specialization are upper extremities and hand therapy.
When she is not working she is an avid cyclist, runner and snowboarder.
Page Baker, PT, DPT, LMT
Page Baker says she learned about the benefits of Physical Therapy the hard way.
“After an accident as a teenager, I did yoga. I learned that general flexibility isn’t healthy without joint stability,” she explains.
“I strive now to affect others to learn how to heal their own bodies with specific joint stabilization and to achieve balance where needed.”
When she started her training she was totally determined to go as far as possible.
“As the only person in my family with a college degree, I wanted to achieve the highest degree possible to make my parents proud.”
Her first degree came in 1996: a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies. In 2008 she achieved her Master’s in Physical Therapy from Hunter College. In 2010, she was awarded her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stonybrook University.
A continual learner, she also amassed an impressive list of special certifications. These include certifications in Swedish Massage Therapy – Shiatsu and Swedish Massage, New York, Trigger Point Therapy, Swedish Institute, NY, Reflexology, Dermal Institute, NY, Maitland Level 3, Hunter College, NY, Neural Mobilization with Mark Butler, Somerville, NJ, and Intensive Orthopedics, Hunter College, NY.
She is currently working on her certification in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy in Florida and Massachusettes.
She gathered experience working in outpatient, inpatient, and rehabilitation settings in outpatient, rehabilitation and acute care hospital and children’s schools settings.
She now specializes in orthopedic physical therapy, pelvic health physical therapy and lymphedema physical therapy.
When she is not working she enjoys long-distance skating and slalom skating and skate tours, dance, biking, gym, yoga, swimming, walking, taking classes and reading.
Edward Chung, DPT
Edward Chung decided to pursue a career in physical therapy while he was completing an internship at a PT department within the Hospital for Joint Diseases. They were helping people recover from surgery while having fun.
He graduated from Stony Brook University in 2009 with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Prior to joining METRO SPORTSMED® four years ago, he had affiliations at the Department of Education, orthopedic clinics and at Lutheran Hospital.
During his time with METRO SPORTSMED® he has been treating various diagnosis ranging from post-surgical to sports injuries.
He is now looking to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist.
When he is not working, he enjoys Crossfit.
Sherrie Neysa Jasper, DPT
Sherrie Neysa Jasper obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Quinnipiac University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York University, Steinhart.
She has also achieved certification in Pelvic Physical Therapy, Level I and II.
She gained experience working in acute inpatient rehabilitation, pediatric facilities and private practices, sub acute rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation and the New York Public School System.
She now specializes in women’s and men’s health and pregnancy and post-partum conditions.
Lance Smith, PT, MS, OCS
Lance Smith is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. He graduated from the School of Physical Therapy in Jamaica, West Indies in 1980 and subsequently from Long Island University with an advanced Master’s in Physical Therapy in 1981.
Lance also attended the University of Western Ontario, Canada, where he worked as a physical therapist and took advanced courses in functional anatomy.
Before joining METRO SPORTSMED®, he was employed as a clinical specialist at the world-renowned Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute (HJDOI). He served as an assistant clinical coordinator for clinical education and was the primary therapist for the weekly sports medicine clinics at HJDOI.
He has been awarded the Sportsmetrics Certification from the Cincinnati Sports Medicine Research and Education Foundation.
Marcin Lisowski, PT, MPT
Marcin Stanislaw Lisowski received his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw, Poland.
He is also a certified swimming instructor, lifeguard, sailor and masseur.
Marcin is currently working towards his doctorate degree in physical therapy.
He gained experience working in outpatient clinics in Warsaw, Poland starting in 2001, and then in outpatient clinics in New York City from 2006 until recently.
His area of specialization is orthopedics.
Marcin says he chose a career in physical therapy because it combines medicine with physical activity, both fields in which he has a great interest.
When he is not working he likes to travel to other cities and internationally, to go fishing and enjoy exercise and fitness. He also like to do photography and cook new meals.
Catherine Johnson, PTA, BA, CLT
Catherine Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Empire State, making the Dean’s List in 1991.
She returned to school recently to earn a Physical Therapist Assistant Certification at Nassau Community College (2010).
She is a certified lymphedema therapist who specializes in lymphedema treatment and women’s health issues.
Catherine is a breast cancer survivor who is dedicated to promoting health for fellow survivors.
Carlos Robles, PTA
Physical Therapy is a fascinating career because it helps people get back on their feet, says Carolos Robles, Physical Therapist Assistant.
He graduated in 2000 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at LaGuardia College, Long Island City, NY.
He then worked and continues to work on several outpatient based physical therapy clinics, working primarily with orthopedic and neurological cases.
When he is not working, he likes to spend time in nature, on the beach and in open fields. He also enjoys spending time with his family.
Puneet Dhaliwhal, PT, MA
Puneet Dhaliwal received her Bachelor of Physical Therapy from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India, one of the top tertiary care centers in India.
She achieved her Master’s in Motor Control and Learning from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, and is currently pursuing her Post Professional T-DPT Program at Utica College, NY.
She is LSVT Big Certified and has completed a competency based course in vestibular rehabilitation from Emory University, Susan Herdman Group, Atlanta.
She gained experience working in the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (tertiary care, outpatient neurology, orthopedics, and pediatrics). She also worked in inpatient physical therapy including trauma ward, burns unit, neurology intensive care unit, neonatal surgical and medical intensive care unit for respiratory therapy.
She gathered further experience at the All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mumbai, India including pain management, orthopedic outpatient, and amputation rehabilitation.
She worked on a research project on Parkinson’s Disease at Columbia University, NY, in 2012 and was a research volunteer at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine New York, NY Motor Recovery Lab under Dr. Preeti Raghavan in September, 2010.
Her areas of specialization now include vestibular, Parkinson’s Disease, neurology, and pulmonary.
Puneet said she happened across the profession of physical therapy in India and she liked that fact that she would be able to care for individuals not just with one condition, but with a holistic concept and would be able to spend more time with patients than some other health professionals.
“I believed that physical therapists go beyond the ‘physical’ management of injury and help improve and promote health at all levels,” she explained.
When she is not working, Puneet enjoys doing outdoor activities like theater and plays as well as badminton, table tennis and hiking. She loves to travel and is also fond of painting, embroidery and cooking.
Fady Khalil, PTA
Fady received his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Misr University for Science and Technology Cairo, Egypt in 2006. He moved to New York in 2012 and currently practices as Physical Therapist Assistant in Brooklyn, NY. He is studying to sit for his Physical Therapy license.
Fady has clinical experience in orthopedic settings and Acute care hospitals. He has experience treating patients with shoulder, hip, knee, spine and foot injuries as well as post surgical patients and patients with neurological disorders. He performs manual therapy techniques as well as instructs patients on individualized therapeutic exercise programs. In Egypt, he also had experience as a Diabetic Patient Educator for Sanofi Aventis (Multinational pharmaceutical company).
His main focus is to work with patients on an individual level to help them reach their goals and maximize their function. In his leisure time, Fady enjoys reading ,cooking, drawing, traveling, working out and spending time with friends.
Yuliya Lagos, PTA, L.Ac
Yuliya Lagos obtained her Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree in Applied Science from Maria College, Albany, New York in May of 1997.
She is also a trained acupuncturist, graduating with a Master of Science from Tristate college of Acupuncture in New York, N.Y., in June of 2004.
She is currently working on a comprehensive Pilates Instructor Certification through Body Arts and Science International (BASI).
She has acquired more than a decade of clinical experience working in many different settings including nursing homes, hospitals and outpatient facilities. She has acquired specialization in trigger point release and Pilates.
She chose to be a Physical Therapist Assistant because she enjoys working with people.
“My goal is to help people improve functions of daily living and improve their well being,” she says. “As a PTA, I have an opportunity to work individually with each patient to help them to achieve a better quality of life.”
When she is not working, Yuliya enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.
Michelle Sze, PT, DPT
Michelle graduated from Binghamton University in 2010 with a BA in Psychology. She decided to pursue a career in physical therapy because it allows her to have a direct and interactive role with her patients as they work together as a team to reach their goals. Michelle then went on to pursue her doctorate in physical therapy at Long Island University and graduated in 2014. She completed 4 clinical rotations in various settings including outpatient orthopedic, cardiac acute care, and subacute rehab. She has also taken various orthopedic continuing education courses and plans on pursuing an orthopedic residency in the near future.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, playing tennis, scrapbooking, and being an avid gymnastics fan.
Ethan Feder, PT, DPT
Ethan Feder graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2014 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. Prior to joining Metro SportsMed, he gained clinical experience through affiliations at sub-acute, acute, and outpatient facilities. He is an avid sports fan and his interest in physical therapy developed based on his curiosity of how athletes were able to return to sports following injuries. His current areas of interest include orthopedics and manual based treatment approaches. He hopes to pursue a board certification as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. When he is not working, Ethan enjoys exercising, playing sports, cooking, and traveling.
James Falesto, DPT
James Falesto received his DPT from New York Institute of Technology at Old Westbury. He gained his experience by working as a Physical Therapy Aide for 2 years, doing 4 clinical affiliations during his Graduate school program, and working under a limited permit for 3 months in an outpatient clinic.
James knew he wanted to be a physical therapist since sophomore year in high school. Throughout his experiences playing sports he was always fascinated by how the human body allowed people to perform these high level complex movements. He also enjoys helping others and believes there is no greater satisfaction than to help someone regain and improve their level of functioning. James has 3 family members who are physical therapists that he was able to shadow and get advice from that solidified his decision to pursue a career in physical therapy.
When James is not working he likes to spend time with his loved ones, workout, play sports, and stay active.
Jose G Pereira, PT
Jose G Pereira graduated from the School of Physical Therapy at Long Island University in 2006. He has worked in many different locations throughout Metro Sports Med including Manhattan, Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights. Jose’s areas of expertise include acute care and orthopedics.

“I find physical therapy to be lots of fun. There is so much joy helping others improve and returning them to their full level of functioning”.
Besides physical therapy, Jose is a great listener and enjoys listening to people’s stories and life experiences.
Nicholas Chambers, DPT
Nicholas Chambers received his DPT from Stony Brook University in 2014. He acquired his experience through work as a physical therapy aide, four clinical rotations during graduate school, post-graduate work in the skilled nursing setting, and multiple continuing education courses.
He decided to pursue a career in physical therapy because it combined his passions for science, fitness, and helping others in a way few professions can. Constantly seeking new knowledge, Nick intends to pursue a certification as an orthopedic certified specialist.
In his spare time, Nick enjoys exercise, the arts, and time with friends and family.
Mary Rose Brier, PT, DPT
Mary Rose Brier, PT, DPT graduated from Temple University with a BA in Sociology. She returned to Temple to complete her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and gained experience at the University Hospital in Acute Rehab, as well as both the Cardiac and Critical Intensive Care Units. Mary also worked for Novacare Physical Therapy and AquaSport Physical Therapy gaining experience in orthopedic and sports medicine.
Mary chose to become a physical therapist in order to help people. She enjoys meeting and getting to know new people and having a positive impact in hopefully helping them change their life for the better. She appreciates the opportunity to work with other physical therapists and aids who are having a real impact on peoples’ lives. It is this environment that she both enjoys working in and is a profession she is dedicated to making better every day.
When Mary is not working she enjoys spending time with family and friends, spending time outdoors and running.
Rima Kotian, PT, MS
Rima Kotian, PT, MS is a Neurological and Vestibular Rehabilitation Program Supervisor. She received her BS in Physical Therapy from Manipal University in India and MS in Neuromuscular Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. Watching her grandfather with Parkinson’s disease being treated by a physical therapist influenced Rima’s decision to enter the field. Prior to joining Metro SportsMed, she gained experience treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries at Nanavati hospital in Mumbai under the guidance of Dr. Ali Irani, former physical therapist of the Indian Cricket team. During her Master’s program at UPitt, Rima learned about Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy through a clinical elective at the Center for Balance Disorders at the Eye and Ear Institute in Pittsburgh, and later received her certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation at Emory University.
With a special interest in Parkinson’s disease, Rima went on to receive the LSVT BIG certification and the Allied Team training for Parkinson’s disease by the National Parkinson’s Foundation. She has been an integral interdisciplinary team member for the Brooklyn Chapter of the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA). Rima was invited by Dr. Miran Salgado, Medical Director of the APDA, to co-write An Evidence-based regimen for patients with mild to moderate Parkinson’s disease which was published in the Brain Sciences journal in 2013. She was also featured on Queens public television network as a guest speaker for the ‘Ease the Burden’ segment of the APDA.
Following her success in the Neurological and Vestibular Rehabilitation Program, Rima pioneered the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program in collaboration with New York Methodist Hospital. The program was one of the first to be launched in Brooklyn and was featured in Brooklyn Independent Television’s Healthbeat Brooklyn in their episode ‘Rehab for COPD’.
