Daniel Sitner, OTR/L, Clinic Director and Director of Outpatient Occupational Therapy
Daniel Sitner, OTR/L, is Clinic Director and Director of Outpatient Occupational Therapy at Park Slope.
He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate University – Health Science Center at Brooklyn (2001) in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He is a licensed occupational therapist within New York State. His certifications include the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and graduation from the National Parkinson’s Foundation Allied Team Training for Parkinson’s disease.
His first job following graduation was at METRO SPORTSMED® in April of 2001.
The foundation of his clinical skills began in the acute care rehabilitation unit at New York Methodist Hospital and he focused his training in the acute rehabilitation unit, neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric unit, all medical acute units and outpatient hand therapy.
He transitioned from the inpatient service into a full time position in outpatient hand therapy for three years before being promoted to Director of Outpatient Occupational Therapy. His specializations include the Upper Extremity and Hand Therapy Program.
Daniel says he decided to enter the field of occupational therapy because of his desire to explore a health professional career. He wanted a career that had opportunities in various settings and the ability to participate in an individual’s well-being on a personal level.
He attended a lecture on the topic of Occupational Therapy, which was given by the Director of the Occupational Therapy Program at SUNY Downstate and by the end of that address, he had decided to become an occupational therapist.
When he is not working, he indulges his passion for soccer. He enjoys playing, watching professional games and even coaching his son’s soccer team.
His family originates from Argentina, and therefore he is fluent in Spanish as well as English.
Dio Roxas, PT
Diogracias (Dio) Alberto Roxas achieved his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Emilio Aguinaldo College in the Philippines.
He spent 10 years working as a head physical therapist in a professional basketball team in the Philippines and five years working in outpatient clinics.
He says he went into Physical Therapy as a professional to be involved with the treatment of sports related injuries.
“I would sit for hours watching sports on TV and can talk about anything and everything about basketball,” he says.
Kirti Sharma, PT, MS
Kirta Sharma has a Master of Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Pravara Medical Trust, Loni, India.
Kirti’s area of specialization is orthopedic physical therapy.
Eduardo Figueroa, PTA
Eduardo A. Figueroa received his Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 1999 from LaGuardia Community College, Queens, New York.
He is certified in Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy.
He gained his experience in outpatient clinics of hospitals and multiple outpatient facilities where he worked.
Eduardo says he chose physical therapy as a career because he always wanted to work in the health field.
“Then, when my grandmother fell ill and was put in a nursing home after a stroke, I would sit in on some of her physical therapy sessions and that piqued my curiosity. Then when I visited my cousin’s physical therapy practice in Puerto Rico, that sealed my decision.”
When he is not working, he enjoys movies, especially foreign and independent films, concerts, art exhibits and he is also a self-confessed foodie. He loves trying different cuisines from different cultures.
